I am normally a fully paid up member of the 'Victor Meldrew' club, have never written before, and usually despair when staff think it more important to be on their mobile phones than serving a customer.

My experience in dealing with Lafarge Artevia has proved to be a refreshing change, and whilst I accept that the level of service is part of the culture of the company its actions are reflected by individuals.'

As a true farmer I was very sceptical that imprinted concrete would work, as I am diversifying I want to keep the look and feel of the farm as rural as possible and had looked at buying and importing cobblestones to do this.  This wasn't an option as - importing is not a truly sustainable solution (and costly), but to do this would have gone against everything that I and the shop opened stands for - local produce from local producers.  With a little bit of investigation I was amazed to find I could have this done locally, a local concrete company, local imprinter and all local materials. 

The finish is amazing, I have been praised by local people for coming up with a rustic solution that is wheelchair and pushchair friendly and fits the farm, and you would think the cobbles have been here for years.  I cannot express how happy I am with the results, I am still surprised every morning when I go outside and open the gates.
